#TrailToSEMA – Day 2 “Pritchett Canyon”

Pritchett Canyon is the highest rated trail in the standard Moab trail system with a trail rating of 9. As the 2nd trail of the 2018 Trail to SEMA, and as the trail we chose to introduce 2 of our crew to Moab day 2 was met with both excitement and apprehension.

As we began down the trail it became all too real for Tiffany in her brand new JLU Rubicon, and she didn’t know it but today would be the day that she earned the right to call herself and her Jeep “Trail Rated”. We were also introducing Matt Myrick from Busted Knuckle Films to Moab the only way we knew how, but while he’s new to Moab he’s far from a beginner and his skill set really shines early on in the day.

Starting at the first named obstacle “Chewy Hill”, we put our machines, our nerves, and our winches to the test. In between the big obstacles on Pritchett Canyon, we found that even the smaller rock piles and descents would offer challenges when you least expect them.

Day 2 and Pritchett Canyon are also at the center of the $100 wager between Matt from Bleepin Jeep and Ian Johnson. With money on the line and potentially a pile of broken Jeep parts, tensions run high with each new obstacle. For Ian Johnson’s shop truck this would be just one of many attempts at the infamous “Rocker Knocker” obstacle, he has never actually climbed Rocker Knocker in this truck so today could be the day he gets to claim victory over the benchmark obstacle of this trail.

With potential rain in the forecast, our team is also under a time crunch to get off the trail before things get REAL hairy! But it wouldn’t be an official Trail to SEMA if we weren’t battling against nature and the clock.
